This site began as an “unofficial fan website” and a tribute to Steven Spielberg, “one of the greatest movie directors of all-time and probably the greatest storytelling in Hollywood’s history.”
SPFC was acquired by The Global Dispatch Inc. in 2013 and will transform the site into a more current communication of the breaking news on Spielberg, his films and projects. The blogs and opinion article will continue but will be segmented to separate the news from the commentary.
Steven Spielberg is a household name directing a series of classics like the Indiana Jones series, E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the Jurassic Park franchise and of course, the blockbuster that spawned blockbusters: Jaws.
Spielberg complimented his resume with dramatic successes both early in his career (Empire of the Sun and The Color Purple) as well as the acclaimed hits that came much later such as: Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan and Munich.
This list barely scratches the surface of the great films and projects helmed by Spielberg.
This goal of this site is to broaden his fan base, provide insight into current news and past memories — all paying tribute to the great writer, director and producer: Steven Spielberg.

An official petition on Whitehouse.gov to have May 4th recognized as National Science Fiction Day. Needed, but impossible without a “blast” from a site like this. I hope you will promote this link among your members!

Hi
We wrote a song based on Close Encounters Of The Third Kind…it is called Devil’s Tower and it focusses on the relationship deterioration between the husband & wife. Would love to get Mr Spielberg to hear it but miracles happening upon request are the essence of impossibility.
Anyway…hope someone can spare a few minutes to listen…it surprised us, honestly:)

Lyrics:
Take me away on a flood of coloured lights
Far above the world of maps and trains
Too bad that our cirlce is not so bright
When I hit the tracks love was strained
I know what it’s like
Waiting for a man made of wood to come alive
I’m losing you
You say the sun came out last night
And all your sadness replaced
You say the sun came out last night
I can see the fire in your face
And all your sadness replaced
She’s probably thinking I’m as vacant as the night
Spun like a baby in her arms
Everythings engraved upon the stars and I’ve the right
To leave them in my own way
I know what it’s like
Waiting for a man made of wood to come alive I
‘m losing you
You say the sun came out last night
And all your sadness replaced
You say the sun came out last night
I can see the fire in your face
And all your sadness replaced

I have a question about the credits at the end of Close Encounters…. there is Philip Dodds as Jean Claude and then Phil Dodds as ARP Musician. I am unaware of anyone in the film named Jean Claude and the man at the keyboard at the Devil’s Tower location is never referred to by name. This is in the movie as well as on IMDB.com Does anyone know what is going on?

Do you think that Spielberg is an auteur? Are there any tropes that make him stand out?
