Not everything can find its audience and 2013 had a few duds.
Even Steven Spielberg took some lumps with Lucky 7, an ABC show he helped produced. Lucky 7 lasted only two episodes and tops the Business Inside list of ‘The 5 Worst TV Shows of 2013’
The Insider recounts: “Lucky 7 won the award for being the first fall show to receive the axe. The premise followed seven gas station employees from Queens who won the lottery. Their winnings were supposed to dramatically change their lives forever.”
We Are Men from CBS was also shutdown after two episodes landing at the #2 spot. The article quotes The Hollywood Reporter saying the THR “summed it up pretty well: ‘We Are Men is about four single guys you wouldn’t ever want to be around or be related to in any way … [it] made me feel stupid almost immediately and then bitter that I’d wasted the time.'”
A horrible Ironside remake was #3 followed by Low Winter Sun which lasted 10 episodes as it sponged off of Breaking Bad viewers.
NBC’s Welcome to the Family rounded out the top 5 with the Insider stating “This felt like NBC’s latest attempt to recreate the success of ABC’s “Modern Family” (remember last year’s “The New Normal“), but instead came across as an “unfunny” show with “all the depth of a knock-knock joke.”
