Warner Bros wants ‘Gremlins’ reboot, Spielberg in talks

Reboots and remakes are in theaters every weekend. Steven Spielberg projects are no exception, with a new “Poltergeist” in development, so now fans have news Thursday that “Gremlins” may be in early talks.

gizmo driving in gremlinsVulture is reporting that Warner Bros. is in talks with Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin Entetainment to reboot the 1984 horror comedy.

The report states: “negotiations of this sort have happened several times over the years, but making Spielberg’s deal always proved too daunting a financial prospect and his involvement might simply be a requirement for making the film at all.”

Additionally, there is no indication Spielberg would direct, he only served as Executive Producer on the original.

A Spielberg spokesman said that the appropriate executives were not available for comment.
