Terra Nova still not renewed

From DIY: Terra Nova, the dinosaur time-travel series from Steven Spielberg, has yet to receive the greenlight for a second Season.
The Hollywood Reporter does state however, that Jason O’Mara (Jim Shannon) and Stephen Lang (Commander Nathaniel Taylor), had their options extended late last year by Fox.

Lang has since signed on to star in a multi-episode arc in the show In Plain Sight. He will feature in three episodes starring opposite Mary McCormack.

While no solid decision has been made regarding the fate of Terra Nova, Fox Entertainment’s Kevin Reilly spoke to reporters at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in January saying that the network faces, “a high class problem.” This problem is due to the high production costs of the show and the time needed to work on the CGI. Production would need to begin on Season 2 soon to allow time for this.

Terra Nova centres on the Shannon family who travel from a dying Earth in 2149 back 85 million years to prehistoric times, where they join a colony of humans intent on rebuilding civilisation.
O’Mara plays Jim Shannon, who travels back in time with his wife Elizabeth (British actress Shelley Conn) and their three children. Lang is the military commander of the colony, Nathaniel Taylor.
