‘Under the Dome’ season 2 begins production with Stephen King on first episode

The popular show Under the Dome is back in production for their second season and author Stephen King, whose novel is the basis for the CBS series, marked the occasion yesterday on his Twitter account, tweeting:

Stephen King on set Under the Dome“The 2nd season of UNDER THE DOME starts production tomorrow. I’m pretty stoked.”

King, who serves as an executive producer on the show, is returning to write the season’s first episode, as he did with the pilot that kicked off the series.

Filming begins in Wilmington, but has locations around the state to bring 13 new episodes to life.

The show may return as early as June and producer Brian K. Vaughan was quoted as saying “No one is safe” Under the Dome.

CSI: NY alum Eddie Cahill and British actress Karla Crome have been cast to join Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Mike Vogel (Bates Motel), Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight saga), Natalie Martinez (CSI: NY), Alexander Koch, Britt Robertson, Colin Ford, Mackenzie Lintz and Aisha Hinds.

Under the Dome was a huge hit in 2013 and a big Amazon deal made the show a big payday for the network – more details HERE

Under the Dome is set to return June 30, 2014.
