‘Under the Dome’ season 2 set for June return, ‘no one is safe’ says creator

After an amazing 2013 CBS looks ahead with one of their most popular shows, Under the Dome.

under_the_dome_-photoThe network’s president Nina Tassler dished on what’s ahead for its shows at the 2014 Winter TCA Press Tour in Pasadena this week confirming the season two premiere will be June 30.

Moreover, two “major deaths” are promised for the premiere.

“No one is safe in this town,” executive producer Brian K. Vaughan teased in a short video giving reporters a glimpse of the new season, which will dive into the mystery of what the dome is trying to protect the town from.

CBS also confirmed adding several new characters, including Junior’s uncle, “who’s been hiding out for reasons we find out,” and a new teacher who will teach the drama’s kids “how to arm and keep Chester’s Mill running” and will probably be a rival for Dean Norris‘ character, Big Jim.

Creator Stephen King is set to write the first episode back.

In 2013, CBS inked a rich, first-of-its-kind deal with Amazon that gave the streaming giant rights to episodes just four days after they aired. (It reportedly paid $700,000 per installment and helped make Dome instantly profitable for CBS.)
